Affiliate disclosure

Water Hardness Check is paid for by its readers' purchases, not by ads. A link on this site may be an affiliate link: when you follow it and buy, the store may pay us a commission. You pay exactly what you would otherwise.

An affiliate link is always marked: the words "Paid link · we may earn a commission" sit right above it. Links to sources — the EPA, USGS, extension services, state health departments, cost guides — are never affiliate links.

Stores

At the moment nothing on this site earns a commission. We plan to apply to water treatment stores on the Awin affiliate network, and each store will be named here once its program accepts us.

What stays the same either way

• Water Check runs on the same published thresholds and price ranges whether a store pays us or not.
• We have not tested any softener, filter or test kit ourselves; product facts come from the maker's or store's own listing and certification records, together with the date we checked them.
• There are no customer reviews, star ratings or paid placements on the site.

We follow the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's guidance on endorsements. Questions go to [email protected].
